E biography brought back memories of late 1968 I was an 18 year old sailor, just about to ship out for the first time.

I just saw the biography of Tiny Tim and found myself unexpectedly moved. I'm sure it has a bit to do with where I was at the time I first heard of Tiny. In late 1968 I was an 18 year old sailor, just about to ship out for the first time. I was at the base in Norfolk, Virgina, and I was most definitely as alone as I'd ever been up to that point. Finding myself at a base club, I warmed myself with a few beers and watched the television that was on. What show it was I can't recall, but the minute Tiny Tim came on I was riveted. I was struck by his music, I cannot remember having heard of him before, and as he lost himself in song I lost myself in his craftsmanship. It was one of those "out of time" moments I needed at that particular time, and I've always felt a lift just remembering it. Beyond any doubt it lightened the load I was feeling that night! Anyway, the E biography brought a bit of it back, and I thought I'd share it for whatever it's worth. He was a surprisingly effective and engaging performer, and I hope the E program brought back memories for others as well.

Warmest wishes,
Frank
