Meeting in Waldorf, Maryland

I wanted to share with you the meeting I had with Tiny Tim back in the early seventies. I was bowling with some friends at the old Stardust Nightclub in Waldorf, Maryland. Half the building was a nightclub and the other half was a bowling alley. Tiny was to be performing later that night and was cutting through the bowling alley to get to the stage where he was either rehearsing or doing a sound check. I called out to him because I recognized him immediately and he walked over and seemed genuinely enthused to meet us and talk with us for a few minutes before going back to work. I was surprised at how approachable he was and how friendly he was.

I will always remember his smiling face. He seemed unaffected by his celebrity, and I liked him.

I was very saddened to hear of his passing and I'm sure you miss him very much. He was truly one of a kind.

Sincerely,
Brian S.
Vancouver WA
