As George Harrison was an admirer and collector of ukeleles, did he and Tiny ever meet to chat, compare notes etc.?

MessageType: (Question)

Subject: (Other)

Comments: Thank you for the website. Tiny Tim was definitely unique and a breath of fresh air on TV for me as a young child of the 60's. Question - As George Harrison was an admirer and collector of ukeleles, did he and Tiny ever meet to chat, compare notes etc.? Thanks again. Lou

Permission: Yes

Name: Lou B.

Hi Lou,

Glad you like the website! Tiny did indeed meet George Harrison in New York in the Fall of 1968. Part of their meeting ended up on the Beatles Christmas flexi disc at the end of that year. Harrison asked Tiny to sing "Nowhere Man" during their meeting. All four Beatles loved Tiny and can be heard praising him during an interview with British DJ Kenny Everett. According to the October 1968 Beatles Monthly book, John and George and their companions were in one of the boxes at the Royal Albert Hall for Tiny's performance on October 30th, 1968. Thank you for your question!

Best,
Ernie Clark (tinytim.org)
