No, she didn't seem to be angry. She was kind of bewildered by his absence, and
also by his fame. She told me once that she knew her father "used to be famous."
I told her that he still was very famous. She had not had the experience I"d had,
of walking through an airport with him and being mobbed for hours. I don't think
she realized how much people loved him until she went to the dinner we had after
the funeral. There she met a lot of fans for the first time. We had an open mike
and lots of people got up and talked about Tiny, and most of them cried. She and
her oldest daughter Cherice seemed moved to realize what Tiny had meant to all
these people. Her younger children were too small to understand, and the youngest
was not born yet. Tiny saw his oldest grandchild, but none of the younger ones.
