TINY TIM'S TOWERING HAPPINESS
For a ceremony watched by more people than any nuptials since Elizabeth II of England married Philip,
the mid-December wedding of Herbert Buckingham Khaury and Victoria May Budinger was taped on NBC's
Tonight Show with remarkable dignity. Though more than 20 million televiewers saw Tiny Tim and Miss
Vicki repeating their self-written vows, there wasn't a TV guest in sight--not even Johnny Carson--and
the groom didn't serenade his 17-year-old bride on-camera until afterward. The real celebration took
place privately, still later, at the nearby Ground Floor restaurant (a CBS hangout!), where the
Victorian-clad pair cut their towering cake--and continued to eschew the festive champagne in favor of
their own blend of milk and honey (Tiny says he's promised Vicki to abstain from alcohol forever
after, though that's never been one of his failings). Then it was off to a well-chaperoned honeymoon
in the Bahamas, where Tiny was scheduled to resume his career as one of this generation's most
fabulous on Christmas Eve, at the House of Lords nightclub. Best wishes to both!
